SIGHTS

AGARAK

Agarak is a village in the Aragatsotn province of Armenia. It is located on Amberd River. The archaeological site of Agarak is located on the west side of the Amberd Canyon.

AKHTALA

Akhtala is a 10th-century fortified Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the town of Akhtala in the marz of Lori.

AGHAVNAVANK

Aghavnavank is monastic complex of the 12th-13th centuries. Located in the marz of Tavush in Armenia.The building is a small central domed cruciform type with annexes, made from yellow travertine stone.

AMARAS

Amaras is an Armenian monastery located in Nagorno-Karabakh, near the village of Sos in the Martuni Province.

AMBERD

Amberd was erected in the historical Province of Aragatsotn, presently 7 km north-west from Byurakan village of Ashtarak Region. It is located on the southern slope of Mount Aragats, at the junction point of the Arkashen and Amberd Rivers, on a triangular cape.

ASKERAN

Askeran fortress can be seen in fourteen kilometers to the east from Stepanakert, has been built in 18 century.

ARAGATS

Mount Aragats is a four-peaked volcano massif in Armenia. Its northern summit, at 4090.1 m (13,420 ft) above sea level, is the highest point of the Lesser Caucasus and Armenia.

ARENI

Areni village is located in Vayots Dzor region. The old and famous village of Areni is famous for its vineyards.

ARUCH

The village Aruch is one of the oldest settlements of Armenia. According to building inscriptions and manuscripts (Ghevond, Hovanes Draskhanakertsi, Stepanos Taronatsi).

BYURAKAN

Byurakan is a major village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, located on the slope of Mount Aragats.
